It’s raining, again. It has been raining on and off for a couple of days and sadly it doesn’t look like it’s going to clear up any time soon.
How do I know this? Because I can track the rain online thanks to Australian Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) and their great services.
The BOM, as it’s known, provides up to date information on just how crappy the weather is. They provide vital information to Australians around the country. The BOM tells you everything you need to know about the weather and stuff you didn’t know you needed to know. Whether you know it or not weather is important (sorry I couldn’t resist the pun) and people need to know different things about the weather, more than do they need to take an umbrella to work. The BOM provides weather for farmers, for aviators, boaties and fishers and many more.
It is fantastic that so much information is made freely available to everyone, in such depth and with constant updates. I have friends and family who are glued to the website checking for information about the weather where they are and the places they want to be.
Here’s a screengrab from the BOM website taken tonight just to show how bad the weather is here. The orange and yellow areas indicate moderate rainfall and for the record it is travelling left to right. I told you it was raining.
